Rockwall to build massive youth sports complex?

At last week’s Rockwall City Council meeting, Planning & Zoning committee member Mark Stubbs presented a proposal to build a massive youth sports complex here.

Council members Matt Scott and Cliff Sevier appear to be strong supporters of the idea, based upon comments they’ve made.

According to Cliff, the many youth sports teams in the Rockwall area have to travel to sports parks to play because their aren’t any high-quality facilities here which they can use to host tournaments.

He said that visiting teams and parents spend thousands of dollars annually to travel with and support their teams. He said that he and Matt have concluded that having a youth sports complex in Rockwall would therefore be good for local businesses and the City’s sales tax revenues.

More info to come. Watch for a video news report soon here and at with details.

Congrats to Rockwall DA’s Office for convicting child sex abuser

Congratulations to Kenda Culpepper, her Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office staff, plus the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office for last week putting a sick child abuser from Royse City into prison for the rest of his life where he belongs!

Read the whole story today in about how a Rockwall Co. jury took less than 30 minutes to sentence Tommy Lynn Stewart to three life terms without possibility of parole. Then 382nd District Court Judge Brett Hall did his part and stacked them together.

The sex offenders wife, Shirley Imhoff, is also in jail right now awaiting trial on two charges of child endangerment.

He had continuously abused three little girls from their neighborhood that he and his wife had been babysitting for nearly a year. Fortunately one little girl told her aunt, who believed her and called the Sheriff’s Office – thank goodness!
