Just learned that a Rockwall jury convicted and sentenced a local man to 42 years in the state penitentiary Sept. 30 for physically assaulting his 10-week-old baby daughter.
He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine by 382nd District Court Judge Brett Hall.
The baby had two subdural hematomas (bleeding on the brain), multiple broken ribs and a broken wrist and leg.
Fortunately the mother took the child to the hospital recently for a check up and doctors determined the injuries had been intentionally inflicted.
